Josh received his Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from the University of Central Oklahoma and his Master of Science in Energy Legal Studies from Oklahoma City University. He began his career with Chesapeake Energy working the Fayetteville Shale. He served as a Senior Landman for Apache Corp. from 2010 to 2015 as part of its Granite Wash, SCOOP, Merge, STACK and New Ventures teams which helped build Apache’s 50,000 acre position in SCOOP, drilled over 200 horizontal wells across the business units and served as a member of the evaluation team for the Cordillera Energy Partners III acquisition in the Anadarako Basin at $3 billion, making it one of the largest PDP and leasehold acquisitions in basin history, to further Apache’s “acquire and exploit” business model. Following Apache, he served as Land Manager for Atalaya Resources, LLC acquiring ~7,000 net acres in STACK, which was successfully divested to HighMark Energy, and a ~15,000 net acre position in the Arkoma Basin for the wet gas Woodford Shale, which was successfully divested to Trinity Energy. Joining the Panther team as Land Manager in November 2017 and subsequently promoted to Vice President – Land & New Ventures in 2018. At Panther, Josh amassed a 28,000 net acre operated position in the Powder River Basin (PRB) at a low cost of entry and assembled wells to be drilled in the Niobrara Shale, Mowry Shale and Turner/Frontier formations, which resulted in wells averaging 60 BO per lateral foot or approximately 600MBO EUR wells. Josh Cornell has 17 years experience working as a landman.

Paul was raised in Douglas, Wyoming at the southern end of the Powder River Basin. The diverse and complex geology of Wyoming gave me my interest in geology. After graduating from the University of Oklahoma with a degree in Petroleum Geology, he went to work for Devon Energy as a Geological Technician. It was here that I developed skills in data organization and software such as Petra, Geographics, and Petrel. While working at Devon, he attended Oklahoma State University in the evenings to obtain a M.S. in Geology. In his years at Devon as a geologist, he had the opportunity to work most of the basins in the Rockies and Mid-Continent including geology exploration leader for the Anadarko Basin. From Devon he went to work for SM Energy in Tulsa where he had his first experiences with the Ark-La-Tex and Gulf Coast regions and continued prospecting the Anadarko Basin. His time at SM was short as private equity companies were developing quickly and he went to work for Double Eagle out of Fort Worth. At Double Eagle, as lead geologist, we had two successful entities; the first in southern Oklahoma and the second in the Midland Basin. After the sale of Double Eagle II to Parsley Energy for $3.7 billion, he went over to another private equity company, Panther Energy, where we discovered and developed prospects in the Powder River Basin and Gulf Coast region of Louisiana.
